Our guest speaker
The Corporate Finance Faculty was delighted to welcome Lord Smith of Kelvin, Chair of the British Business Bank. We were particularly pleased to hear Lord Smith’s fulsome support and recognition of the Faculty’s policy work on access to finance. It was very encouraging to note Lord Smith’s continuing commitment to maintain the very close relationship between the Faculty and the bank, as well as for both the Business Finance Guide and the Finance Hub.
The Corporate Development Award was given to Simon Boddie, CFO of Coats Group plc, and Judith Wettach, Head of M&A and Strategy. The award recognises a London-listed company whose strategy has made the most effective use of M&A to grow, and increase shareholder value.
This year, the most successful students from each of the two most recent sittings of the Diploma in Corporate Finance, were Chris Collett and Peter Smith. This was presented by Rosanna Woods, Managing Director UK, Drooms.
