August Equity has promoted David Lonsdale to managing partner. He succeeds Philip Rattle, who spent 15 years in the role and has become chairman.Lonsdale joined August in 2008 from BskyB, where he was corporate finance manager. Prior to that, he worked for ITV and KPMG.

Rattle, who worked for 3i and JP Morgan before joining August in 2004, will now focus on investment and portfolio matters, and will chair the firm’s investment committee.

Lonsdale said the firm had been working on the transition for the past year and had met its goal of finalising plans ahead of closing the firm’s latest fund – AEP VI – later this year.

 

BGF has recruited Jill Williams to its portfolio team in Manchester, from Mercia Asset Management, where she spent five years and was deputy fund principal, private equity and head of ESG. Prior to Mercia, she had spent 10 years at RJD Partners in London, as an investment director, having started her career at PwC in corporate finance.

 

Livingbridge has promoted three new partners: Matt Jacobs (1), Sanjay Panchal (2) and Jeremy Dennison (3).

Jacobs started his career at PwC in transaction services, before spending two years in a corporate development role at Sainsbury’s. He joined Livingbridge in 2016 and became head of services in 2022.

Panchal started his career in private equity with Teachers’ Private Capital, before moving to portfolio management with Barclays Ventures, and then to Livingbridge’s healthcare team in 2016.

Dennison joined Livingbridge in 2018 as general counsel, responsible for the firm’s transactional and corporate legal, governance and compliance activities. Prior to Livingbridge he was a private equity M&A lawyer at Travers Smith.

 

Agathos has promoted John Butterworth (1) to senior investment manager and Mark Conway (2) and Tom Street (3) to investment manager.

Butterworth joined the firm in 2020 from Connection Capital, following eight years with KPMG, where he trained as an ACA.

Conway joined in 2018 from KPMG, where he spent six years and trained as an ACA.

Street joined in 2020, from DC Advisory where he spent two years.

 

Gresham House Ventures has recruited Grant Paul-Florence as director of investment, from BGF, where he led the London and South East investment team. Prior to this, he was head of development capital at Octopus Investments, and before that he worked for AAC Capital Partners and Levine Leichtman Capital Partners.

 

Chris Ginnelly has joined the commercial team at ECI Partners as an independent growth specialist, focusing on sales and marketing initiatives in the firm’s portfolio companies. He previously held leadership positions at Xerox and Civica.

 

Perwyn has recruited Stéphane Gaudard (1) as investment manager in its Paris office, from Five Arrows Principal Investments, the private investment arm of Rothschild in Paris, where he spent eight years.

And in London Karolina Sotomska (2) joins as investor relations senior associate, from Ares Management. Prior to Ares, she had been an associate at Bank of America.
