LDC has recruited Vera Kuehne (1) as investment manager and Sally Tam (2) as investment executive, from CPP Investments and PwC respectively. Both will be based in the Bristol office and support businesses in the South West and Wales. LDC also has an office in Cardiff. A six-strong team of investors, led by partner Dewi Hughes, covers the region.

Originally from Switzerland, Kuehne has also worked for KPMG, Credit Suisse, UBS, Wendel and KLAR Partners. 

Tam spent six years with PwC, where she trained as an ACA.

Inflexion has recruited Martin Preuss as a partner and head of the Germany, Austria and Switzerland region, from Intermediate Capital Group (ICG). He is based in Frankfurt, as he was at ICG, where he focused on European technology investments. He also spent 11 years at KKR and four years in Citi’s investment banking division.

FPE Capital has promoted Chris Kay to partner. He joined FPE in 2017 from PwC, where he was a member of the firm’s TMT corporate finance advisory team. He spent five years at PwC, working in its financial due diligence and lead advisory technology practices.

Investec has recruited Oliver Altendorf (1) as director, Christoph Schwarz (2) as associate director and Emilia Korobowicz (3) as associate in its dedicated GP advisory team. The team was launched in November 2023 and is led by Stefano Manna, who joined Investec in November as head of GP advisory from Eaton Partners.

Altendorf has joined from Asante Capital Group and previously worked for Houlihan Lokey. Schwarz has joined from HarbourVest, and prior to that spent three years at Raymond James. Originally from Poland, Korobowicz moved from Credit Suisse’s private fund group.

In Birmingham, Investec has recruited Kirsty Cartwright as investment director, from RBC Brewin Dolphin in Birmingham. She has more than 23 years of experience in wealth management and previously worked for Mazars.

Rebecca Gibson has been appointed chair of Level 20, succeeding Cheryl Potter. Level 20 is a not-for-profit organisation established to inspire women to join and succeed in the European private equity industry. Gibson has more than 20 years of private equity investment experience. She had been an investment partner at Oakley Capital since 2014 and prior to that was a partner at Cinven for 12 years, where she led and worked on deals in the healthcare, consumer and service sectors across Europe. Prior to that she worked for Bain & Company in the UK and South Africa. 

Northern Gritstone has recruited Joanne Hosker as talent director for NG Innovation Services, the business support services arm of the investment firm. She has joined from BGF’s talent network team, where she worked on recruitment of non-executive board directors and chairs for BGF portfolio businesses. She also spent 13 years as a leadership trainer at Focus Management Development.

European capital structure advisory firm Marlborough Partners has appointed Hamish Buckland as chairman. He was previously chairman of CVC Credit from 2017 to 2021. Before that, he was a senior adviser to Triton Partners for six years, and spent 25 years at JPMorgan, where he was vice chairman and ran the bank’s European Leveraged Finance business from 2001 to 2008.
