Recruitment and promotions in private equity.

August Equity has recruited Pete Lyons (1) and Samira Aminzare (2) to its investment team as director and executive respectively. Oyinkansola Bishi (3) has also joined as an executive in the investor relations team.

Lyons has joined from Primary Capital, where he spent seven years and will focus on new investments and portfolio. Before Primary, he spent nine years at PwC, where he trained as an ACA in audit, before moving into the corporate finance team, and being promoted to assistant director.

Aminzare has joined from Mobeus Equity Partners, where she spent two years. Prior to that she spent six years with Deloitte, where she worked in transaction services after training as an ACA.

Bishi previously worked in investor relations at Livingbridge, before that in Hollyport Capital’s investment team and for Deloitte in transaction services. She trained as an ACA with Deloitte.

ECI has recruited Christy Welsh (1) as origination manager from Deloitte; Ludvig Hamilton (2) as an investment associate from Houlihan Lokey in Sweden; and Sam Veevers (3) as an analyst in the origination team from Houlihan Lokey in Manchester. All three will be based in the private equity firm’s London office.

Welsh trained as a chartered accountant in Deloitte’s transaction services team in Edinburgh. She then moved to London to lead Deloitte’s TMT M&A origination. She was promoted to assistant director at the end of 2022. She has a focus on the healthtech and data subsectors. Earlier this year she completed the Oxford AI Programme at the University of Oxford Saïd Business School.

Hamilton has extensive experience of northern European investments, particularly in the technology sector, having worked in Houlihan Lokey’s global technology group – and before that as a senior analyst in the M&A team of Deloitte’s corporate finance team – both in Stockholm.

Veevers joined Houlihan Lokey as a deal origination analyst in 2022, after graduating from York Business School with a first class degree in economics and finance.

Chris Mockford (4) has also joined ECI as investor relations director, from Zetland Capital. Prior to that he worked for 51 North Capital and Evercore.

Kay Sin (1) has joined Mobeus as an investment manager from PwC, where she was a corporate finance manager, specialising in the TMT sector. She spent eight years with PwC, initially training as an ACA with the firm in Birmingham, before moving to London.

Kit Schutzer-Weissmann (2) has also joined the private equity firm as origination manager from RSM’s origination team, where he was a manager. Before moving into M&A, he spent six years as a fuel broker based in Paris.

Michael Graham will step down as global head of private equity at OMERS Private Equity at the start of 2025. He will have been with the firm’s private equity team for 21 years when he retires. He moved from Toronto to New York in 2009. He will effectively have two replacements, with his role being split. New York-based Eric Haley (1) will be head of private equity, buy-out; and Toronto-based Michael Block (2) head of private capital.

Downing has recruited Luke Stevenson as associate director in its development capital team, from leading pan-European healthcare private equity investor G Square. Prior to that, he worked in the M&A advisory team at Jefferies International, and in investment banking at HSBC.
