Corporate Finance Faculty board member and CEO of the British Business Bank, Louis Taylor (1), has taken over from Russ Cummings as chair of British Patient Capital (BPC). Ian Connatty (2), the British Business Bank’s deputy chief investment officer, has also joined the BPC board. And Tom Haywood (3) has joined as a managing director for direct investments, moving from Foresight Group.

BGF has recruited Matthew Jones (1) from Gresham House Ventures. Based in Belfast, he has joined the firm’s Northern Ireland and Scotland investment team. Prior to spending three years at Gresham, he spent three years in EY’s private equity advisory team, having trained as an ACA with HMT.

And in Manchester, Johnathan Massey (2) has joined BGF’s talent network team, which assists portfolio companies with access to non-executive directors and chairs. He has moved from Rowan Executive Search, and used to work in deal origination for Mazars, FRP and Palatine Private Equity.

Albion Capital has promoted Adam Chirkowski (1), Paul Lehair (2), Cat McDonald (3) and Nadine Torbey (4) to partner; Molly Gilmartin (5) to investment director; and Valérie Aelbrecht (6) and Kibrya Rahman (7) to investment manager.

Chirkowski joined the firm 11 years ago from Rothschild. Lehair joined five years ago from Citymapper, where he was CFO. He previously worked for Viagogo and Citibank. McDonald joined from Goldman Sachs in 2018. And Torbey joined seven years ago from Berytech, where she was an investment analyst.

Gilmartin specialises in healthtech investments and has been with Albion for three years. She previously worked for McKinsey, Induction Healthcare Group and Applican. 

Aelbrecht joined two years ago from ProToGo, a hospitality consultancy she founded. Rahman also joined two years ago from Funding Circle, and previously worked for Formula One and OC&C Strategy Consultants. 

Harry Pampiglione has joined Mobeus as investment manager, from LDC, where he was an operating partner, working in the private equity firm’s value creation team. Prior to that he spent four years in the transaction services team at PwC, having trained as an ACA with RGL Forensics.

Agathos has promoted Chanelle Jones to investment manager. She joined Agathos in 2023 from Pioneer Capital in Auckland, New Zealand. And before that she worked for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, the New Zealand government’s international development agency. She trained as a chartered accountant with EY in Auckland.

Manchester-based VC firm Praetura Ventures has recruited Camilla Greenwood (1) as investment director, from LDC, and Klarissa Nura (2) as investment associate from Maven Capital. Greenwood joined LDC’s North West team in 2021 from PwC, where she spent seven years working in Manchester and Leeds and trained as an ACA. Nura worked on several notable deals during her time at Maven, and before that was at ImpactVest.

Both will be deploying funds from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, which is managed by Praetura in the North West; £100m of the £660m has been allocated to investment in the region.
