Who’s on the move or been promoted in legal advisory.

Ania Vernon (1) and Martin Smith (2) have joined Freeths as corporate partners in the East Midlands, from Shoosmiths and Knights respectively. 

Vernon spent seven years with Shoosmiths, having trained as a lawyer with Fieldfisher in Birmingham. Prior to Knights, Smith worked for Spearing Waite, Watson Burton and Squire Sanders, having trained as a lawyer with Eversheds. 

And Hannah Tessyman (3) has joined as director in the law firm’s corporate team in Leicester, from Knights.

Gibson Dunn has recruited Brian Scrivani (1) as partner in New York in the firm’s M&A and private equity practice groups, from Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison. In Hong Kong Daniel Abercromby (2) has joined as a member of its global finance practice group. And in Singapore, Claude Jiang (3) has joined its projects and infrastructure practice group as an of counsel.

Joanna Roberts has joined the private equity practice at Cleary Gottlieb as counsel, from Travers Smith, where she spent 12 years. She trained with Hogan Lovells.

Mills & Reeve has promoted corporate lawyer Paul Krivosic to partner. He specialises in the healthcare sector and is based in London. He joined in 2021 from Pinsent Masons.

Addleshaw Goddard has recruited Craig Sowman as joint head of restructuring and insolvency in Dublin, from William Fry, where he was corporate partner.

William Fry has appointed its head of corporate and M&A, Stephen Keogh, as the firm’s next managing partner. He was appointed partner in 2005 and will take on his new role from November 2024.
