Addleshaw Goddard has recruited three corporate partners from Pinsent Masons: Julian Stanier (1), Gareth Jones (2) and Roberta Markovina, a US-qualified lawyer who was head of US securities at Pinsent Masons. Stanier and Jones joined Pinsent Masons in 2017 from legacy Berwin Leighton Paisner, where they were partners. Both advise on corporate finance and public and private M&A. Markovina joined Pinsent Masons seven years ago from Herbert Smith Freehills, where she was a senior associate. 

In Ireland, Joe O’Rourke has joined from McCann Fitzgerald as a corporate and commercial partner. He specialises in the telecoms and renewable energy sectors, and in patent licences.

Travers Smith has promoted Aaron Stocks to head of transactions, a newly created role for the firm. He has been with the firm for 27 years, having trained as a lawyer with them, and became partner in corporate. He is also the representative of the listed private equity industry on the InvestEurope regulatory board.

Reed Smith has recruited Samantha Myers as partner in its London office in its global corporate group from Gowling WLG, where she spent nine years and was a partner in its capital markets team. She established and led Gowling’s UK cannabis sector and co-led its life sciences group. She specialises in corporate finance, M&A and equity capital markets. Prior to Gowling she worked for Osborne Clarke for 10 years.

DLA Piper has recruited Gordon Houseman as partner in its international finance practice from A&O Shearman, where he spent seven years. Prior to that he worked for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Shearman & Sterling in London, and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in Toronto.
