Gresham House Ventures has recruited Rohit Mathur (1) as investment partner from Digital Horizon VC, where he was an investment partner and led the firm’s global fintech investments. Prior to that he spent more than a decade at Barclays in London, where he held several senior roles, including heading up Barclays’ VC unit. Before that he was a management consultant at EY advising financial services clients. He will identify and execute venture capital investments focused on fintech, SaaS and AI-first technology companies.

Marieke Christmann (2) has joined as portfolio director from pan-European venture capital fund Forestay, where she was senior investor. She previously led the growth investment team at Octopus Ventures, and began her career in leveraged finance at NIBC in Frankfurt and Credit Suisse in London. She has a particular focus on the software space.

LDC has recruited Peyman Atapour as investment manager for the North East and Scotland from KPMG, where he spent seven years, qualifying as an ACA, before moving into its corporate finance team.

Agathos has promoted John Butterworth (1) to director, and Mark Conway (2) to senior manager.

Butterworth joined Agathos in 2020 from Connection Capital, where he spent three years. Before that he spent eight years with KPMG, moving into deal advisory after qualifying as an ACA, and spending his last two years in Copenhagen. Conway has been with Agathos for seven years, having joined directly from KPMG’s restructuring team, where he worked after training as an ACA team in audit.

BGF has recruited Rosaleen Blair CBE to its board as non-executive director. In 1996 she founded Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS), the global talent acquisition and management services outsourcing business. She was CEO for 24 years and has been chair of AMS since 2019. AMS acquired the Up Group in 2020 and FlexAbility and HirePower in 2022. She is chair of Everywoman, which provides products and services to help women in business, and chair of FTSE-listed Kaison Group. She is actively involved in the investment space, advising businesses across multiple sectors.

Emilie Walker has joined the origination team at Mobeus as investment executive from PwC Strategy& Deals, where she spent three years and was a senior associate.

Inflexion has recruited Ben Meyer as partner and head of North America from Hg Capital, where he spent five years establishing its US brand and growing the US team to more than 50 professionals. Prior to Hg, he was a senior member of Temasek’s US team, having started his career at UBS Investment Bank in New York. The New York team will support Inflexion’s portfolio companies to execute US growth initiatives.

Octopus Ventures has recruited Erin Platts as CEO from HSBC Innovation Banking, which was until 2023 Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) UK. She joined SVB UK in 2004, and was its CEO from 2019 until 2023.

Foresight Group has recruited Olly Cox as senior investment manager in its private equity team in Bristol, to support the deployment and management of the recently launched Foresight South West Fund, an evergreen fund cornerstoned by Devon Pension Fund. He has joined from Literacy Capital, and prior to that he spent six years in corporate finance at Numis Securities.
