BGF has recruited Tracy Bownes (1) as head of value creation from LDC, where she was a partner. She will lead BGF’s 10-strong value creation team, and join BGF’s investment committee and investment leadership team. Her previous roles include senior leadership at Lumon, and directorships at Moneycorp, BCIS, Sedex and IGG. She also previously worked for the RBS Special Opportunities Fund.
In Newcastle upon Tyne, BGF has recruited Scott Johnston (2) as investor. He has joined from PwC and previously worked for Deloitte, where he trained as an ACA.
And in Manchester the firm has recruited Emma Cassidy (3) as investor from DSW Ventures, where she spent four years, having initially trained with KPMG.
LDC has recruited Rachael Baker as partner in its portfolio team in London. She has joined from Graphite Capital, where she worked for 16 years and was a partner for the last 10. Prior to that, she spent three years as a strategy consultant at L.E.K. Consulting. She is also a mentor for women in private equity, working with Level20.
Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has shaken up its senior leadership team. Calum Paterson (1), who has been SEP managing partner since co-founding the firm in 2000, has become chairman and senior partner. He is a former chair of the BVCA. Angus Conroy (2) and Keith Davidson (3) have been appointed co-managing partners. Both are based in London. Conroy has been with the private equity firm 13 years and Davidson 10 years. Glasgow-based Fraser McLatchie (4), who has been with the firm 22 years, has become chief operating officer (COO). SEP has also promoted Tim Ankers (5) to partner in its investment team. Based in London, he joined from Deutsche Bank nine years ago.
YFM Equity Partners has promoted Jamie Roberts (1) to managing partner. Former managing partner Eamon Nolan (2) will continue in a leadership role at YFM as head of investor relations and fundraising. Roberts joined YFM in 2012 from Lloyds Banking Group and Nolan joined 12 years ago from 3i, where he spent 16 years.
Tom Phillips (3) has joined the private equity firm as investor relations director. He previously spent 13 years with Downing, after starting his career with Lloyds Bank in 2005.
Jacob Moore has joined Trimountain Partners in London as an investor and vice-president. He has joined from RSM, where he spent 10 years and was a director in transaction services, having initially trained as an ACA in its audit team.
Keensight Capital has recruited Zoe Clarke (1) as head of capital markets and Daniel Delghavi (2) as a principal in the growth buyout firm’s capital markets team in London.
Clarke has more than 20 years’ experience in debt advisory. Most recently, she spent six years as a partner at EY, and led the firm’s mid-market and leveraged finance debt advisory team. Before that she spent 18 years at KPMG.
Delghavi has joined from SMBC Group, where he spent seven years.
Emma Winter has joined Blackstone as a senior vice-president in its London technology and innovation team. She has joined from Graphite Capital, where she was a value creation partner, having previously worked for the Birchman Group and De Beers.
