LDC has recruited Amit Thaper (1) as investment director and Adam Philippsohn (2) as origination director in its London office. Thaper spent eight years at Cairngorm and was a managing director. Prior to that, he spent two years at HIG Capital and seven at Bain & Company. He began his career as an orthopaedic surgeon before moving into private equity in 2011.
Philippsohn has always worked in deal origination and spent seven years with BGF, and before that four with Sovereign Capital and three with Clearwater BGF.
Jasmine Megson (3) has also joined LDC, in the new role of portfolio networks director in the value creation partners team. She has joined from CGE Partners, where she spent four years and was head of origination and talent. Prior to that, she spent four years at Inflexion.
In Leeds, Connie Smith (4) has joined LDC as an investment executive from YFM Equity Partners. She began her career as investment analyst at Mercia Asset Management.
And investment manager Ana-Maria Garaba (5) has relocated from Leeds to Reading. She joined LDC’s Leeds office from Lloyds Banking Group, where she worked in leveraged finance.
Indro Mukerjee (1) has joined BGF’s deep tech and climate advisory board, a high-level group of experts chaired by Baroness Brown of Cambridge. Set up in 2022 to direct BGF’s investment strategy in the evolving deep tech sector, its members include Juliet Davenport OBE, founder of Good Energy; and Laura Sandys CBE, climate scientist and energy policy expert.
Mukerjee started his career with Hitachi Europe, before joining Philips Semiconductors in Eindhoven, where he held senior roles. He then began working in tech start-ups, and was CEO of C-MAC MicroTechnology, Plastic Logic and Watchstone Group.
And in Dublin Micheál Walsh (2) has joined BGF to lead the Irish origination function from Bank of Ireland, where he spent two years. Prior to that he spent 17 years with AIB in Dublin.
Conly Manolas (1) has joined Ama Capital as investment executive from KPMG’s London-based industrials M&A team, where he spent four years. He is a chartered financial analyst originally from Perth, Western Australia. He spent four years with ANZ as a credit analyst in Perth and Sydney, before moving to Berlin to lead the finance function at health-tech start-up, Qunomedical.
The investment firm has also recruited three non-executive directors: Tony Buffin (2), Alistair Hardie (3) and Andrew Tyler (4). Buffin held a range of C-suite roles at Loyalty Management Group, Coles Group, Travis Perkins and Holland & Barrett, before founding Tesca Group, where he is currently chair. Most recently Hardie was CEO of insurance broker Jensten Group. He was CEO of travel group CEGA and was also chair of JCRA. Tyler’s expertise is in specialist engineering and industrials and business services. He was group CEO of Algeco (now Modulaire Group) and European CEO of Northrop Grumman.
ECI Partners has recruited Simona Everts as associate in the private equity firm’s commercial team from OC&C Strategy Consultants, where she spent three years. Prior to that she spent two years at Baringa Partners as an analyst.
Mobeus has promoted Jordan Kay to investment director. He joined Mobeus in 2022 from Sandton Capital Partners as an investment manager, and was promoted to associate director last year. Prior to Sandton he worked for Lincoln International and before that spent six years with EY, where he trained as a chartered accountant.
