Radical simplification in prospect for Inheritance Tax

From a government perspective, Inheritance Tax (IHT) is almost the perfect tax. The person who triggers it doesn’t have to pay it. The person who pays it uses someone else’s assets and the person receiving what is left of those assets cannot access them until the tax is paid. Little wonder that governments throughout history have favoured is as a source of revenue.
