Is the longest US economic recovery on record coming to an end?
David Smith of The Sunday Times takes a look at the financial indicators influencing the state of the US economy
Donald Trump should not need any lessons in longevity. When he was elected three years ago at more than 70 years of age, he became the oldest man to start a presidential term in US history. If he is successful in securing a second term next year and serves a full four years, he will also set a new record as the oldest to leave office, just pipping Ronald Reagan in each case.
However Trump does have reason to be concerned about another type of longevity. Can America’s economic recovery, the longest on record, last long enough to see him safely home next year?
