Removal of paper-based annual return
From 2019, the paper version of the annual return will be obsolete. Here we explain the support available to help your firm move over to the online version.
When you are ready to complete your firm’s first annual return online in 2019, our dedicated annual return team is here to talk you through the completion of the full set of questions by phone. They are also available to answer any questions you might have.
If you have not completed an annual return for 2018, you can choose between the paper version or the online version (subject to timings).
To complete your firm’s transition, we need the email address of the most appropriate person in your firm. This is usually the Practice Assurance principal. We will use this email address for all future correspondence about the completion of the annual return, including useful reminders, log in details and support materials.

We’d like to let you know that in addition to receiving emails about the annual return, you will also receive regulatory updates by email. These updates include changes to regulations and other important pieces of regulatory information which are pertinent to your role as the ICAEW contact for your firm. We only send a few of these each year.
