TAXline News: February 2019
Frank Haskew, Head of the Tax Faculty, reports on recent developments at the Tax Faculty during February 2019.
We are sorry to inform readers that our esteemed editor of TAXline, Jane Moore, will be retiring in April 2019. It will be the end of an era, as Jane has been editing TAXline since 2004, first as deputy and then as sole editor from 2005. We thank Jane for her wonderful contribution to the continued success of our magazine. We will miss her and wish her all the best in her retirement when it comes. In the meantime, we are looking to appoint a new editor. There are further details on the website and we would welcome applications. Please send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are delighted to see that Bill Dodwell has been appointed the new director of the Office of Tax Simplification. Bill was head of tax policy at Deloitte and former president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He is also a long-standing member of the Tax Faculty’s Technical Committee and the Tax Policy and Reputation Committee. We look forward to working with Bill and continuing to support the important work of the OTS.
