15 questions that all trustee boards should ask
The Charity Commission’s questions provide a useful guide for trustees to identify any areas of weakness.

Financial sustainability may become more of a challenge for many charities: they may need to enter new markets and undertake new activities, which can be risky.
Charity trustees should answer the 15 questions to satisfy themselves before embarking on new activities.
The questions are not meant to be a comprehensive list that covers all eventualities, rather each question broadens out to give further examples of items to consider.
Many charities may not have an agreed policy or procedure to assess risk and governance and this could be a useful document to start these processes.
