Fast track to the ACA in Europe

Did you know that ACA students who have already obtained an academic or professional qualification could enjoy a fast track route to becoming an ICAEW Chartered Accountant? ACA students can take advantage of ICAEW’s Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) scheme which recognises the knowledge they have already gained.

This means that employers could save on the cost of exam fees, tuition and study time away from the office. By taking advantage of the CPL available to them students qualify faster and can add value to a business more quickly.

It’s not only UK Universities which are recognised for CPL, there are a number of Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) across Europe which have qualifications and courses already approved for CPL.

For example, in Cyprus eight HEIs have been approved for CPL. These include all undergraduate degrees at Cyprus University of Technology, European University Cyprus, University of Nicosia and the University of Cyprus whose MBA program is also approved.

CPL is currently available from 23 HEIs across seven European countries with more regularly added to the list.

CPL isn’t only limited to academic qualifications, they are also available for professional qualifications. For example students who have gained the Auditor Qualification Certificate from the United Certification Commission (UCC) in Russia are eligible for up to six credits, in the Czech Republic KACR members from the Chamber of Auditors are eligible for up to nice credits and those who have gained membership of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL) are eligible for up to 11 credits.
