We organise events for members, ranging from CPD courses to social events and discussion groups, as well as representing the interests of chartered accountants in the district to the wider business community.
The latest Business Confidence Monitor (BCM) shows business confidence falling into negative territory across the UK, as companies face a cost of doing business crisis, alongside the cost of living crisis that consumers are facing.
The society was formed in 1901 and serves more than 3,000 members in Nottinghamshire (less the district of Bassetlaw), Amber Valley, Derby, Erewash, South Derbyshire, Lincolnshire (less the district of East Lindsey) and East Staffordshire
The society’s members come from accountancy practices small and large and from a range of business, public sector and Third Sector interests. The district society is deeply engaged in the development of the local economy and regards the promotion of the profession – especially among students – as a crucial part of its work.
It also acts as a link between the ICAEW in Moorgate Place and members in the district.
