Chair

Clare loves data, systems and I.T. She has extensive experience across retail and hospitality, her recent move to the Scottish courts and tribunals service (Scottish government) has opened doors to the fascinating and critical public sector with extensive opportunities in data and systems. Having spent time working in Italy, Germany and Hungary she is also passionate about Europe and the benefits of using the qualification to combine work and travel. She aims especially to encourage and support ICAEW members in Scotland who are interested in data, systems and Europe.

Deputy Chair
Marizah is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a member of ICAEW Digital Assets Working Party. She founded Responsible FinTech Research Group and leads a core module on MSc FinTech programme at the University of Bradford. She was a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Armed with corporate experience, she bridges academia and practice through her active engagements in research, publication, professional and charitable activities. Her latest book is on Cryptocurrency Risk and Governance Challenges.

Shelah has specialised in the health care sector for over 20 years. She was formerly a hospital clinician and general practitioner. Her particular expertise is the development of strategic change programmes and improvement of organisational efficiency. For IMS she aims to find new ways to sustain and extend the participation of members and support the wider role of chartered accountants. Shelah is also an ICAEW Support Member.

Vineet works as Finance & Digital Transformation Consultant at IBM Consulting. With 20+ years of work experience, he specialises in technology impacting the finance and accounting domain. He is passionate about the disruption created by emerging technologies viz. digitalisation, automation, artificial intelligence, data science. Prior to working with IBM has worked with leading global organisations namely Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young, and McKinsey & Co.

Stelios qualified with PwC in Edinburgh in 2014. Prior to joining Resolis, he was with Infrastructure Managers Limited, a provider of management services for PFI/PPP projects. Stelios specialises in financial management and financial modelling. His goal for ICAEW in Scotland is to engage with and support ICAEW members in Scotland.

Heather is a Client Investment Director at CCLA, the specialist provider of investment portfolios and cash funds for voluntary and public sector organisations which is the UK's largest manager of charitable assets. Alongside the 'day job' she is on the Board of the Honorary Treasurers Forum, and is a member of the advisory group for ICAEW's Charity Community. One of her aims is to raise awareness among finance professionals at all stages of their careers of the benefits of being a charity trustee.

Chris is an experienced audit partner, with wide ranging experience he now specialises in financial services and in particular the asset management sector. As well as external audit Chris supports his clients on regulatory change, controls and governance and he leads BDO's financial services team in Scotland after 20 years split between KPMG and PwC. As a Welsh ex-pat in Scotland since 2006, Chris splits his time between Glasgow and Edinburgh having trained in Cardiff and moved to Glasgow after a stint in Canada. Chris will bring perspectives from practice and the financial services sector as well as encouraging wider engagement.

Stephen is a technical accounting subject matter expert and an Alliance Manchester Business School graduate, with a wide variety of post-qualifying business experience. After qualifying, Stephen worked in the commercial sector in a variety of FP&A and financial control roles, including time in corporate finance and acquisitions, before moving into the financial services sector. Stephen is looking to bring his enthusiasm for all things FinTech and accounting geekery to the benefit of members in Scotland. He also looks forward to connecting with as many members as possible in his new role as ICAEW Scotland Council Representative.

Jim is a self-employed public and third sector internal auditor. He originally trained and qualified with PwC in London and specialised in local government. He sees good governance as invaluable in public and commercial life in Scotland and joined the Scotland committee because he believes accountants are uniquely placed and trained to drive up governance standards in Scotland.

Paul trained with PwC in Edinburgh, before moving to the private sector in September 2014. Previously, Finance Director at Locogen, Head of Finance roles at NWH Group and Our Power Energy Supply Limited and Group Finance Manager at Energy Assets Group plc. Paul has a strong interest in sustainability, social mobility and diversity. For ICAEW Scotland, he is looking forward to raising the profile of members in Scotland and increasing engagement of students and younger members.

A highly-experienced businessman, with a long career as Chief Executive, Finance Director, non-executive director and consultant, for businesses large and small, across multiple sectors. He is currently engaged in developing three emerging businesses. He is also a trainer and is an author on the topic of business success. For IMS, he is looking to promote chartered accountants as a source of expertise to support entrepreneurial businesses, particularly in the SME community.

Melanie is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, author, presenter and ethical entrepreneur with businesses operating within practice, training, education and creative industries. Melanie is a former president of ICAEW Scotland, committee member of ICAEW and CIOT Scotland and leads the newly formed sub-committee of ICAEW TAX Faculty focusing on Scottish Taxes. Representing and educating members and society regarding key taxation developments, policy and future direction of taxation, including specific Scottish Taxation aspects are core interests.
