The Hampel Report

The Committee on Corporate Governance (the Hampel Committee) was established in November 1995 to review the Cadbury Committee's recommendations on corporate governance. The Hampel Committee released a preliminary report in August 1997, followed by a final report in January 1998.

The report

Final report - Committee on Corporate Governance (January 1998)
The final recommendations from the Committee on Corporate Governance which cover the role of directors; directors' remuneration; the role of shareholders; and accountability and audit.

Background

The Committee's recommendations eventually became the Combined Code of Corporate Governance (1998). There were derived from a combination of recommendations of both the Cadbury and Greenbury Reports hence the name 'Combined Code'
