BlackRock duo set up cryptocurrency hedge fund

Two leading investors from asset management giant BlackRock have left to set up their own cryptocurrency hedge fund called Prime Factor Capital.

They join a growing list of executives quitting mainstream financial services to join the fledgling sector, as the likes of Bitcoin experienced a surge in value, particularly at the end of last year.

Michael Wong, who was senior portfolio manger and head of fixed income asset allocation at BlackRock, and fixed income specialist Adam Grimsley have set up the new fund with Nic Niedermowwe, who moved into cryptocurrencies at the beginning of last year.
