Biography
An experienced ICAEW Chartered Accountant, Chris is the Chairman of the ICAEW Northern Network Board, having been in post since June 2024. He is also a past President of the ICAEW Northern Society of Chartered Accountants, having been fortunate enough to perform several other roles for his district society, demonstrating the pride he has in this fantastic qualification and how much he values being a member of the ICAEW.
Chris is the Associate Dean Education for Newcastle University Business School and a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. Previous roles here have included Director of Education, Joint Subject Group Head of Accounting and Finance and Degree Programme Director for the Business Accounting and Finance programme (the Flying Start degree, a partnership with PwC and ICAEW running since 2003) at Newcastle University Business School.
Before becoming an academic in 2010, Chris worked in two of the ‘big four’ accountancy practices in Newcastle upon Tyne as well as in industry in both the private and public sectors.
Chris enjoys skiing, travelling, coffee and being a dad!
