Business finance advice scheme

We have been working with the UK Government and other accountancy bodies (ACCA and ICAS) on a service which enables businesses to identify qualified accountants who can provide independent advice on business finance – the Business Finance Advice scheme.

ICAEW support to members on Exporting

The ICAEW is working with UK trade and investment (UKTI) and Uk export finance (formerly ECGD) to promote the benefits of exporting to its members working in smaller businesses and advising them. In association with UKTI it has produced a publication for first time exporters international trade: an accountant’s guide.

Is the future of LEPs any clearer?

The Spending Review on 25 June included the amount that Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) will receive for 2015/16 and outlined the commitment for the following five years. But it could all change after the 2015 election. For fuller details see the attached summary.

I believe exporting will drive the much needed growth in UK SMEs and chartered accountants can play a key role in encouraging companies to export.
