ICAEW Foundation – your charity

At this time of uncertainty ICAEW Foundation is thinking about the wellbeing of all of our students, your friends and your families. We encourage those of you who are in our mentoring programme to continue to engage with your mentee during this time for support and friendship. You can also reach out to the Foundation at any time, by email or telephone (details below) if you would just like to talk. Do remember this will pass and we will all come out of it with a stronger appreciation for our friends, families, our way of life and the many things that we too often take for granted.

With the support of ICAEW members, ICAEW Foundation is helping to create life-changing opportunities to transform, through education, the lives of students from financially challenged backgrounds.

We have raised £2.6m but still have a challenging way to go to reach our goal of £10m. Your help is needed to ensure we can continue to support young people across the UK and in developing economies to have the career you have.

Through our Changing Futures bursary programme we are assisting aspiring students in universities across the UK, as well as in Cyprus and Hong Kong, to study for a degree in accountancy and finance. Please see details of our 2019 programme on the link below and on each university’s site.

In recent years we have grown our geographical reach and created our Building Futures programme. This programme provides bursaries to a growing number of talented and ambitious students undertaking new professional accountancy qualifications in countries such as Cambodia, Ghana, Malawi and Lesotho.

Challenge Ten

Immediate ICAEW past President, Paul Aplin launched Challenge Ten to ICAEW members seeking their financial support for the provision of ten new ICAEW Foundation Building Futures bursaries. The funds are to directly support students to study towards obtaining professional accountancy qualifications in countries like Lesotho and Cambodia. These new local qualifications were developed with assistance from ICAEW’s International Capacity Building team towards building a world of strong economies.

Challenge Ten closes at the end of 2019 and the Foundation is seeking your support to make it a success.
