More about new magazine economia

economia is an exciting development, providing in-depth analysis of current business and financial events with profiles of the key figures and companies involved. It will provide even more essential high-quality business and financial commentary with clearly signposted, regular contributions from leading business and management thinkers, economists, entrepreneurs and the brightest financial minds. Regular profiles will feature the world’s leading finance professionals and key figures in business, politics and accountancy.

ICAEW has listened to feedback from members asking for detailed technical content to be presented in the most suitable format. Adding essential business content, analysis and intelligence in a succinct and insightful way, with detailed information and technical guidance clearly signposted online means economia will be increasingly valuable to members from February 2012 onwards.

The magazine economia will bring intelligence and insight to all members whatever sector they work in - whether in business, practice or public sector.

The news

As you may be aware, in February 2012 we are launching a new member magazine to replace accountancy as part of the annual ICAEW membership. The new all member magazine is called economia.

What content will the new magazine have?

The new all member magazine will provide you with the latest analysis and commentary on financial accountancy news and critical technical updates, plus a whole lot more. We’re adding essential business, management and economic content in a succinct and insightful way, meaning that you will be receiving even more value and support. Whatever sector you work in, you’ll be prepared for the challenges ahead.

To maximise the value to our members, we are supporting the printed magazine with comprehensive online and digital versions.

What will happen to Accountancy magazine?

From February 2012 you will no longer be receiving Accountancy magazine, as you will automatically receive your new ICAEW member magazine as part of your annual membership. No additional cost will be required.

Any members wishing to continue to receive Accountancy magazine, owned and published by Wolters Kluwer, in addition to the new ICAEW monthly magazine, will need to subscribe to it independently.

Why have we chosen the name economia?

This is the name of the figure at the heart of our logo who has represented ICAEW since its inception over a hundred years ago. She embodies the values of the profession which are so important to chartered accountants today.

economia will reflect these values, providing the latest analysis and commentary on financial and accountancy news, essential technical updates and the most up-to-date business, management and economic trends. Plus, a whole lot more.

Will I be missing out on anything?

Rest assured, you won’t be missing out – you will receive key technical insight, intelligence and industry news, as well as the most up-to-date business management and economic trends. Independently and professionally written, your new member magazine is coming from a source you can trust.

Michael Izza, ICAEW Chief Executive, says: 'This is a significant development for ICAEW at a time when chartered accountants are more important than ever to the future success and health of the economy. This new magazine will help our members to support their clients and their businesses through a turbulent economy.'
