Biography
She joined ICAEW in 2001 as Head of Technical Service and Product Development before being promoted to Director, Member Services in 2006 and to Executive Director in 2012. Sharron qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989. After leaving practice, she worked as a financial accountant for Wates City plc before joining J Sainsbury's plc in 1993, where she held a variety of roles. Over the past 20 years, Sharron has driven a wide range of new member support services and commercial activities, such as the transformation of our member facilities at Chartered Accountants’ Hall.
As COO, Sharron will lead the overall operational efficiency of the organisation and enhance matrix working across departmental boundaries. With the support of our four new Managing Directors (MDs), she will oversee all the functions that support ICAEW’s Strategic Foundations: Belonging and Supporting, Education and Training, and Reputation and Influence. This includes Learning and Development, Members, Technical Strategy, International, Commercial, Digital and Brand / Marketing.
