Permitted Texts for exams

Permitted publications for the Professional Level and Advanced Level exams.

Contents
When purchasing your ICAEW learning materials, you will receive most of the permitted texts for that module as part of a bundled purchase and will be able to view the publications in your ICAEW Bookshelf. As the ICAEW learning materials are updated each year, take care to refer to the correct year and editions for prices and ways to order, as they may differ. If you are sitting an exam in 2024, you should study using the 2024 edition of the learning materials.

How to order

Visit the bookstore to purchase your learning materials and permitted texts. You can use your ICAEW account login details to access the ICAEW Bookshelf via the Bibliu app or browser.

2023

The International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS ®) book (set) is only available to order from the IFRS Foundation for £81:

2024

The IFRS blue book will now be available as an eBook for students to use alongside ICAEW learning materials, just like the other permitted texts.

The IFRS Blue Book will be accessible in the following ways:

  • For FAR IFRS, a clean PDF will be available in the exam software.
  • For open book exams, you will have access to your ICAEW Bookshelf and all your purchased ICAEW learning materials and permitted texts.

No hard copy IFRS Blue Books will be permitted within your exam.
