Huw is responsible for the analysis used by the Bank of England to make monetary policy decisions, and leads the research that supports all their other functions.
He has previously worked as Chief European Economist at Goldman Sachs, Deputy Director of Research and Head of Monetary Policy Stance Division at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, as well as worked in its Strategic Policy Issues Unit. Huw was also a member of the faculty at Harvard Business School and at the start of his career, he worked as an economist in the Bank of England’s then Economics Division.
Huw has a BA (Hons) from the University of Oxford and an MA and PhD from Stanford University.
I thought the theme of the event was perfect, being focused on “fit for the future”…The Huw Pill and Leanne Spencer sessions were particularly insightful. Overall, a very well-thought through day and one that has really pumped my mojo for our great profession!
