Import and export procedures

Part of the larger Exporting and doing business abroad section of the Government website. Specific guidance covers such subjects as:
Export Control Organisation
Information from the Department Department for International Trade on export licences, including links to SPIRE, the website for the online export licence applications.
Market Access Database
The Market Access Database is an interactive, free online service from the European Commission with information for more than 100 countries on:
- import tariffs and internal taxes
- import formalities (e.g. customs procedures and requirements) with sample forms
- trade barriers
Terms of trade for the sale for the sale of goods developed by the International Chamber of Commerce. The full rules are available to purchase from the ICC site, but the introduction is freely available. An updated version of the rules has been published in 2020.
