Do I have to be a member?
As an ACA student, you are currently not eligible to:
- use the ACA letters after your name;
- refer to yourself as 'qualified' or 'chartered'; and
- call yourself an 'ICAEW member' or 'ICAEW Chartered Accountant'.
These terms are reserved for ICAEW members. Now that you've received your invitation, it's important to become confirmed as an ICAEW member, so you can proudly refer to yourself with these terms soon.

How do the fees work?
When you apply, you will pay two fees together:
- a fixed one-off admission fee; and
- the annual membership fee, which is dependent on your income.
Payment can be made online or via alternative payment methods.
