Biography
Elizabeth has served on ICAEW’s Board since July 2026 and is a member of the Nominations Committee.
Elizabeth is currently a Civil Service Commissioner, providing assurance that civil servants are selected on merit on the basis of fair and open competition, and helping safeguard an impartial Civil Service. She is also a member of the Business Appointment Rules panel.
Elizabeth is an experienced government lawyer and former senior civil servant. Until August 2023 she was Director General for Commercial, Trade and International in the Government Legal Department, following earlier senior legal leadership roles in five different government departments. She is a qualified barrister, now non-practising.
