Biography
Andrew Weir MBE BBS JP is a non-executive director and governance professional.
He is an INED and Chairman of Audit Committee of Standard Chartered Bank and FWD Group Holdings and an INED of The Tote UK. He is a Steward and Chairman of Audit Committee of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Trustee of The Jockey Club Trust.
He is also Chairman of the Stock Exchange Listing Review Committee and the British Chamber of Commerce Supervisory Board. He is Vice-Chairman of the Financial Services Development Council and chairs its Governance Committee.
He previously chaired the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange, British Chamber of Commerce, Plan International and Pacific Basin Economic Council.
He was previously the Global Head of Asset Management and also Global Head of Real Estate at KPMG. He was Regional Senior Partner of KPMG in Hong Kong SAR, Vice Chairman of KPMG China and Chair of the Board Leadership Centre and INED Forum.
He is a Council Member and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Fellow and Council Member of the Institute of Directors.
He was made an MBE for his contribution to trade and investment and was awarded Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors for his services to the NGO sector. He is also a Justice of the Peace.
He has an honours degree in Economics and a Masters in Economic Development.
