The award criteria
Contributions could include, but are not limited to:
- Enhanced member engagement: developing initiatives or activities that foster stronger connections among members and increase engagement with ICAEW
- Advocating for ICAEW and the profession: representing ICAEW’s values and mission to members, stakeholders, and the broader public, including contributions to thought leadership and public discourse.
- Influencing key consultations: playing a pivotal role in consultations with stakeholders and related parties, providing insights and expertise that help shape policy or strategy.
- Advancing professional development opportunities: creating or contributing to impactful learning, mentoring, or career development programmes for ICAEW members.
- Peer support: demonstrating consistent dedication to supporting other members, including mentoring, advising, or aiding peers in their professional growth.
- Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion: working to promote a more inclusive and equitable profession.
- Supporting ICAEW’s strategic priorities: contributing significantly to initiatives aligned with ICAEW’s long-term goals, such as sustainability, technological innovation, global outreach, or community impact.
How to nominate
Nominations can be submitted by ICAEW members, employees, or ICAEW board and committees. Peer or colleague endorsements are strongly encouraged.
Please note that self-nominations are not permitted.
Each nomination should highlight the member’s contribution, with clear examples of impact and, where possible, supporting evidence.
Nominations for the 2026 award are open from 1 November 2025 and close on 12 December 2025. Judging will take place in January 2026 with the award recipients notified soon after the judging date.
The award winners, up to six each year, will be:
- Honoured at a special luncheon event at Chartered Accountants’ Hall
- Presented with their award by the ICAEW President and representatives of the founding societies.
- Celebrated in ICAEW publications and communications.
The ICAEW Founding Societies Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service celebrates ICAEW members whose commitment, passion, and contributions have left a profound and lasting impact on ICAEW, our profession, and wider society.
Whether as Council members, faculty or committee members, advisory board members, or through their contributions at roundtables, as speakers, authors, or in so many other ways our volunteers all over the world are critical to our work.
This award honours those volunteers whose exceptional dedication has gone above and beyond in service to the ICAEW community – and celebrates members whose commitment, passion, and contributions have left a profound and lasting impact on ICAEW, on our profession, and on wider society
