Overview

ICAEW’s Founding Societies’ Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service recognises ICAEW members who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to volunteering for their institute, and who have made a profound, lasting impact through their contributions.

For nearly 150 years, ICAEW has been recognised as a world-leading professional body; part of this proud legacy and rooted in our heritage, is the vital contribution of our global network of volunteers – members and students alike.

Whether as Council members, faculty or committee members, advisory board members, or through their contributions at roundtables, as speakers, authors, or in so many other ways, our volunteers all over the world are critical to our work. They help ensure ICAEW remains relevant to its members and to the profession. And they also play an essential role in promoting chartered accountants and all ICAEW members and students.

Presented annually, the award commemorates the heritage of ICAEW’s founding societies — Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester, and London - preserving the legacy of these institutes coming together to form ICAEW, while also recognising the role of volunteers in shaping our future.
