Following feedback from members, ICAEW has restructured and relaunched its member benefits programme, expanding its offering and tailoring its support.
Under BenefitsPlus the discounts available to members are now split into two areas – professional and lifestyle – making it much easier to find relevant offers, whether you’re looking to save money on IT equipment, professional indemnity insurance or a villa for your holidays.
“We are proud to work with high-value brands and partners to offer our members and students a variety of discounts on products and services as part of their membership,” says Sarah Ghaffari, ICAEW’s Director Communities, Business and Practice.
“We have listened to our members and we’re confident our new BenefitsPlus hub and newsletters will enable members to better see and keep up to date with their exclusive discounts.”
Professional offers - supporting you at work
ICAEW has collated offers tailored to support chartered accountants in their working life, from discounted coworking spaces with NearU to cutting costs on energy efficiency assessments with OnGen.
One core area, which ICAEW continues to expand, is the range of insurance offers available. Mercer has joined the programme this year, providing 20% off its minimum fee for director and key person insurance, which sits alongside a range of options from Marsh Commercial, covering cyber, office and business insurance. Members can save an average of 30% on Marsh professional indemnity insurance.
Similarly, ICAEW has expanded the number of discounts relating to technology, with HP joining Dell in offering savings on new equipment and Mitigo offering members 10% off its cyber security management services.
Alongside these perennial favourites, BenefitsPlus now has a category of offers aimed squarely at supporting those running their own business or practice – ‘employment and human resources’. Within this section of offers, members can access a free helpline on employment law, HR and health and safety, provided by new partner Croner, as well as discounts on its full-service package.
Meanwhile, Mercer is offering members savings on its products to help firms provide employee benefits, including through salary sacrifice schemes, and Smart Employee Eyecare offers support on meeting legal obligations on eyecare.
Help is also at hand in supporting compliance with anti-money laundering regulations, with Mercia offering packages of online training, ready-to-use templates and helpsheets designed with ICAEW to support members.
Lifestyle offers - make the most of your leisure time
Members asked for more options when it came to discounts away from the workplace and ICAEW has responded by adding a new selection of offers to save on holidays, as well as two new clothing brands and discounts on dining out.
Members looking to get away from it all, can now benefit from discounts on holidays booked through Travel Republic, as well as on stays at Radisson Hotels. Car hire options have also been expanded with Europcar joining Hertz in offering ICAEW members savings.
For those heading into London, ICAEW has also partnered with Clayton and Maldron Hotels, to secure a 10% discount for its five London hotels. Once in London, membership to Searcys Club 1847 – which ICAEW Chartered Accountants can now access for life for a one-off payment of £6 – unlocks discounts at restaurants in locations including Westminster, the Gherkin and St Pancras, as well as the One Moorgate Place Club at Chartered Accountants’ Hall.
Meanwhile, the number of retailers participating in the benefits programme has evolved significantly this year, with Hawes & Curtis and TM Lewin joining Charles Tyrwhitt in offering discounts to their clothing ranges.
Alongside offering money-saving options on clothes and technology, ICAEW has looked at new products, securing offers for members on artisan gin, vegan chocolates and healthy eating food deliveries.
These new offers sit alongside long-standing member favourites, including discounts on family days out, breakdown cover, health checks and home insurance.
