Costs
The Pathways to Membership route includes an exam admission fee which is payable with each Pathways exam submission you make. You need to pay this admin fee online as part of the exam application process. Your application is not valid without this payment and it is non-refundable in all circumstances.

2023 subscription fees
The fees are based on your income and circumstances. These are the annual membership fees for 2023:

- If you have an income above £31,615 then you would pay the full rate.
- If you have an income below £31,615 but above £15,807 then you would pay the half rate.
- If you have an income below £15,807 then you would pay the low rate.

Readmission fees
There is no readmission fee other than for cases requiring review by the Fitness Committee; fees for such cases will be £830 (two times the main subscription).
ICAEW delayed membership fee
If you delay your entry into ICAEW membership for 12 months or more after your eligibility date – which for Pathways applicants is the date you receive your exam results – You must provide the following additional information and you will incur additional costs:
- An extra £100 of administrative cost.
- You are required to submit a reference from an ICAEW member with whom you have worked for at least two years.
- You are required to submit a reference from your current employer.
- An updated CV / career resumé.
