Legal Services Regulations effective from 1 June 2023 (these replace the previous Probate Regulations).

Legal Services Compensation Scheme Regulations effective from 9 April 2024 (these replace the previous Probate Compensation Scheme Regulations).

ICAEW works collaboratively with other regulators of legal services where their members practise within ICAEW licensed firms and vice versa. The protocols for enforcement procedures between the bodies are set out in a Memorandum of Understanding effective June 2017 and updated from March 2019 for GDPR and the addition of ACCA.

ICAEW established a Probate Compensation Scheme to accord with the requirements of the Legal Services Act 2007. These regulations have been replaced with the Legal Services Compensation Scheme Regulations. The regulations were being updated with small, consequential changes to align terminology with ICAEW's updated disciplinary framework which came into effect on 1 June 2023.
