Jon Moulton CBE

Jon Moulton is a Chartered Accountant, a CF and a Fellow of the Society of Turnaround Professionals. Formerly Managing Partner of Alchemy, Jon also previously worked with Citicorp Venture Capital in New York and London, Permira and Apax. Jon is Trustee and Principal Donor to the J P Moulton Charitable Foundation and the Jon Moulton Charity Trust which has committed some £53m to clinical trials. He is a very active angel investor. He was a member of the ICAEW Technical Strategy Board and of their Corporate Finance Faculty.

Alan Vallance
Alan Vallance CEO, ICAEW

Alan was previously CEO of the Chartered Insurance Institute, leading the premier professional body for insurance and financial planning. A chartered accountant with Ernst & Whinney, Alan is a Fellow of ICAEW, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an Honorary Fellow of the Korean Institute of Architects.

Alistair Brew Head of Investment Operations, BGF

Alistair joined BGF in July 2011 to lead on new investments in the South East. He later ran the London investment team before moving into his current role, which is focused on delivering best practice across BGF. Alistair remains involved in new deal origination and sits on the boards of Gymbox, EvoDental and Juriba. Alistair has 21 years’ experience in small company investing, gained initially at Close Brothers and then at Octopus Ventures. Alistair qualified as an ACA with PwC in 1998.

David Petrie
David Petrie Head of Corporate Finance, ICAEW

David leads ICAEW’s work and public policy engagement in corporate finance and is widely recognised in the sector as "the voice of corporate finance". He has worked both as a principal in industry and a lead advisor at PwC. His areas of interest and expertise include: mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, and infrastructure advisory work. David has been actively involved in numerous initiatives designed to improve access to finance and business investment, including the Breedon Review, which led to the establishment of the British Business Bank; the development of the Business Finance Guide, which has been distributed to more than one million small and medium sized businesses; with HM Government on cyber security in corporate finance; and on the application of AI in advisory work. He is currently a member of the Cabinet Office expert panel on the National Security and Investment Act and also sits on the advisory board of the M&A Research Centre at Bayes Business School.
