Webinar: Financial Modelling Code

Late 2018, ICAEW launched the Financial Modelling Code, a high-level guide to the goals and methods of good financial models.

In this webinar, project lead David Lyford-Smith and Alistair Hynd will highlight key lessons from the code, and how it can help you to initiate informed conversations about better financial modelling with your colleagues and clients.


David Lyford-Smith, Technical Manager, IT & The Profession, ICAEW 
David Lyford-Smith is an Excel specialist and one of the Technical Managers of the IT Faculty. He previously worked with BDO as a senior Excel specialist, working on Excel training and education. David runs the popular blog series for the Excel Community called ‘Tip of the Week’.

Alistair Hynd
Alistair heads RSM’s financial modelling practice. He has over 25 years of experience in financial modelling and corporate finance at RSM, KPMG and Commerzbank. He has led numerous modelling engagements, from developing project finance, M&A and operational models, to the audit of complex PPP, securitisation and rail-franchise bid models. Alistair sits on the ICAEW’s Excel Advisory Committee and authored an ICAEW financial modelling best practice guideline. He has also acted as expert witness on litigation involving around modelling and analytical matters.
