Biography

Shiraz is a holder of a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance honours degree from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom (1986) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Shiraz is the Country Managing Partner of EY Malawi, a firm of Chartered Accountants Malawi and is also a resident Practicing Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM).

He has more than 26 years of cumulative experience in all aspects of auditing, financial accounting, taxation, company law, exchange control advice, company incorporation, privatisations, share valuation assignments, computerisation projects, investment appraisals and related business plans and advice on general business conditions and the economic environment.

His client base ranges from Government Ministries to private companies, Non Governmental Organisations and multi-national companies.

Shiraz’s continuous facilitation and participation in dialogue between foreign private sector investors and government has seen approximately US$800 million of foreign direct investment into Malawi in recent years.
