Mark Barham FCA

Chief Administrative Office, Flexpoint Ford, LLC

Mark Barham is the Contact Member for Chicago. He is a point of contact for members' enquiries on living and working in Chicago and works with ICAEW to promote our strategy and brand within Chicago.

Biography

Since September 2014, Mark has been working as a Director in the Investments group of Allstate Corporation, a listed insurance company based just north of Chicago, where his focus is performing due diligence and structuring work on potential private equity and credit investments.

He previously spent 13 years at PwC, with a short spell in the Audit group before moving into Transaction Services. The vast majority of his career at PwC was therefore spent advising clients on both acquisitions and divestitures, helping private equity and corporate clients to make informed decisions on over 70 transactions.

Mark moved to Chicago in 2005 on a tour with PwC. After spending nearly a decade in Chicago, and meeting his wife there, he feels very much at home in the Windy City. He appreciates that Chicago provides everything you would want from a big city, but is also a very friendly place to live and work.

Mark did his chartered accountancy training at Barber, Harrison & Platt, after obtaining a BA in Economics and Business at the University of Sheffield. He qualified as an ACA in 2001; and in 2012 obtained his Executive MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

As well as being the ICAEW Contact Member in Chicago he is also Co-President of the Chicago Chapter of ACAUS, helping to connect Chartered Accountants from around the world.
