Audit manager named best UK job for 2019

The role of audit manager has been voted the best job in the UK this year, followed by finance manager.

According to employment review website Glassdoor, job satisfaction among audit managers ranked an average 4.5 out of 5, with median base salaries at £52,000. There were 1,124 job openings for audit managers listed on the website at the time of the study.

Job ranking on the list was determined by those with the highest earning potential based on median annual base salary, employee job satisfaction rating and the number of job openings compiled by Glassdoor.

Finance manager came in second place with job satisfaction at 3.8 and salaries averaging £60,000. There were 2,001 job openings available.

Marketing manager, product manager and sales manager composed the top five on the list, with salaries of £42,500, £52,500 and £42,000 respectively.

Amanda Stansell, Glassdoor’s economic research analyst, said: “There’s no question that emerging technologies designed to grow and scale business, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation are having an impact on the types of jobs employers are hiring for across the country. As a result, we’re seeing a spike in demand for highly-skilled workers in 2019.”

She said the jobs market for 2019 looked ‘healthy’ as there were openings in many of these highly ranked jobs across all industries and in all areas of the country.
