ABAB is an independent body representing the small business community. It aims to provide insight and expertise to HMRC, and to challenge HMRC on its performance.
ABAB’s annual survey for 2026 is open until 29 April 2026. Results from the survey will be published in autumn 2026 in the Tell ABAB report. The report reviews HMRC’s progress against ABAB’s priorities and is sent directly to Treasury ministers.
Businesses or agents can take part in the survey. Respondents are asked to provide information about their business or practice, and to give their views on a range of issues. These include Making Tax Digital for income tax, HMRC’s performance and the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to answer tax queries. ABAB says that the survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
