CJRS v2: Extended payroll support for all ICAEW members
3 July 2020: While phase two of the government’s furlough scheme is mostly welcome, it also means more nuances for finance professionals to tackle. A Tax Faculty webinar looks to support all ICAEW members with this tricky subject.
In June 2020, HMRC published updated guidance on the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), which clarified some key points with regards to CJRS v2. The grant scheme entered its second phase on 1 July 2020 and covers claims for employees furloughed from that date until the scheme ends on 31 October 2020. Claims for CJRS v1 must be made on or before 31 July, and claims for v2 must be made on or before 30 November.
Given the complexities of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), the Tax Faculty is offering an extended webinar for all ICAEW members on 9 July. Delegates will hear from payroll and employment tax specialist Kate Upcraft as well as Tax Faculty technical managers Anita Monteith and Caroline Miskin as they explain the scheme, work through examples and explore other hot topics with regards to payroll. As with all of these sessions, there is the opportunity to ask questions.
Along with CJRS V2, Kate Upcraft will focus on other payroll hot topics, such as:
- eligibility for the Employment Allowance
- preparing for the rollout of off-payroll working in the private sector
- new holiday pay rules
- the introduction of parental bereavement leave
- other changes we are expecting from April 2021
You can see the headline changes to CJRS here.
Please join us for the webinar, which as with all our COVID-19 support is free to members, and share with those who need the support.
