Case study:
In my current job role, I provide risk advisory services to clients in the regulated financial services sector, with a particular focus on capital & liquidity adequacy assessment, commercial credit risk, and other counterparty (third, fourth party) risks. The qualification provided me with a valuable frame of reference, in particular an enhanced understanding of the contractual interfaces between debtors and creditors in distress situations; the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders; and remedies available for controlled resolution.
The CII syllabus is broad and deep, covering UK legislation, including integration with corresponding EU standards; the role of Government agencies and professional / regulatory bodies; the full spectrum of corporate insolvency interventions spanning liquidation and recovery; balanced coverage of personal insolvency requirements, particularly useful in understanding the impact of insolvency on the behaviours, decisions, and responsibilities of company directors. I was able to complete the study and sit the exam within six months end to end.
Overall, great value and highly recommended.
