What does the research say?
In 2016, we interviewed 638 senior ICAEW Chartered Accountants around the world about what skills and behaviours they saw as the key for the future.
All those interviewed were in senior roles including Finance Director, Chief Executive, Chief Finance Office, Partner, Managing Director, Senior Partner and Managing Partner. The research focused on three main questions:
- What are the main skills and behaviours that you have needed to be successful at your role?
- How do you see your role and/or business changing in the next few years?
- Therefore, what do you see at the key skills and behaviours that those aiming for success at senior roles will need to have in the next 5 years?
