Financial data and company reports
We can provide detailed company information and financial data on UK and Irish public and private companies.
Information is derived from records filed at Companies House and other suppliers. The data available will depend on whether a company files full or abbreviated accounts.
We can also help you find individual company reports for public and private companies around the world, either through international company information databases or directly from the relevant local registry. Company profiles and SWOT analyses
ICAEW members and ACA students can access profiles and SWOT analyses for companies and organisations worldwide directly through the EBSCO Business Source Corporate Plus database.
Company profiles give a description of the organisation and cover key facts, including information on history, key employees, major products and services, competitors and location of headquarters and subsidiaries.
SWOT analyses highlight a company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Private company multiples
We have access to data via BVB Insights on the multiples paid for UK private businesses to help with your business valuations.
The BVB Insights report provides data on 11 sectors and over 40 sub-sectors, plus commentary on current trends and expected developments.
An in-depth overview is available to ICAEW members, Business and Finance Professionals, ACA students and Forensic & Expert Witness/Valuation Community subscribers.
Industry sectors
We can provide several different reports on the top companies within a specified industry sector and segment.
Key players reports contain financial information on each company (for example, turnover). Mailing lists provide contact information. Market reports give aggregated data for the whole sector.
Our industry guides cover over 80 business and industry sectors. Each guide looks at trends, international markets, statistics and data on trade and employment, legislation and regulation, trade organisations and journals.
Mailing lists
We can provide mailing lists to help you market your practice, expand your business, or add value to client services.
You can also customise mailing lists to your specific requirements using criteria such as location, turnover, or company type. Our page on customising your mailing list has more information on criteria, the commonly requested ratios, and a full list of balance sheet and profit and loss account options.
Benchmarking
We can provide reports for benchmarking your company or a client’s company.
Reports include financial data for companies within your specified industry or business sector (by SIC code) and UK region.
This service is primarily aimed at benchmarking companies filing full accounts.
Client screening
Our client screening service checks individuals or entities against global risk and compliance data. This service is free of charge but only available for ICAEW members and ACA students.
Names of individuals or entities can be checked against a variety of watchlists which identify restricted, sanctioned, prohibited and high-risk individuals and businesses. This includes known terrorists, money launderers, fraudsters, and politically exposed persons (PEPs).
We will carry out a maximum of three name checks from a single firm or member per week.
Due diligence checks
We can provide reports on the current and previous directorships held by an individual in UK & Irish companies to help you assess their suitability as business partners.
Share histories
We can supply capital history information (including details of mergers, name changes, share issues and 31 March 1982 share values). We can also provide details of dividends and distributions, covering Irish and UK dividends and unit trust distributions.

We can provide comparative reports with information on business and financial advisors for companies listed in the FTSE indices.
