Practising certificates

If you engage in public practice, you need to hold an ICAEW practising certificate (PC). Revised guidelines came into effect on 1 January; make sure you know how they affect you.

What is a practising certificate?

If you are engaged in public practice in the UK, you need to hold an ICAEW practising certificate (PC) and comply with our Professional Indemnity Insurance and Practice Assurance Regulations.

Changes to the Statement on engaging in public practice

As of 1 January, a revised ICAEW statement on members engaging in public practice has come into effect. The statement provides guidance on who needs a PC. Members who previously didn't require a PC may now need one. Members have until 30 April to apply for a PC, if required. You can read the new statement, find out what's changed and whether these changes affect you in this hub.
