Marty Sedler - Director of Global Utilities and Infrastructure, Intel

Marty Sedler, director of Intel Glogal Utilities and Infrastructure, talks about his passion for green power and the development of energy infrastructure. Intel has become the largest purchaser in the US of renewable energy certificates (RECs) and it is using more than 3.1 billion of KWh of green power annually. The company's goals for 2016 include remaining 100 percent green powered through 2020 with the acquisition of RECs and on-site green installations.

The new green economy

The article discusses the ecological threat from CO2 emissions, and the implementation of a viable green-growth program to stop global emissions rising and achieve climate stabilization. Investments aimed at raising energy-efficiency standards and expanding the supply of clean renewable energy sources would also generate tens of millions of new jobs in countries at every level of development.

These inspirational case studies demonstrate why the 2013 winners were worthy of Finance for the Future Awards. Many of the winners demonstrated environmentally friendly practices - for instance, Crossrail chose to create a nature reserve at Wallasea in Essex with earth excavated during their tunnelling process.
