Economic indicators: interest rates

Economic indicators measuring interest rates are available from a number of sources, including government and professional bodies. On this page you can access reports and online resources providing statistics and commentary.

Online articles

The ICAEW Library & Information Service provides access to a range of articles in full text from leading business, finance and management journals. This resource is available to ICAEW members, ACA students and other entitled users.

Monetary Policy Committee
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of England sets the UK base rate. Their website publishes the minutes of its meetings and spreadsheets showing the voting patterns of the Committee back to May 1997.

FT Data Archive
The Financial Times publishes official and market interest rates in its print edition from Monday to Friday. These tables are available from the Data Archive for the last five years.

UK Financial Statistics
Former bulletin from the Office for National Statistics showing interest and exchange rates. Ceased publication in 2013.

RBS Databank
Economic indicators and market rates provided by Thomson Reuters through the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Databank. Includes monthly interest rates for the last 15 years.
