Audience: For senior finance professionals in practice who are new to a partner role or are one or two career stages away
Duration: Four months
Location:  Participants can choose to complete the programme online or in person at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, London

Programme overview

DLiPTM is a four-month programme. Through workshops, case studies, peer learning, self-reflection, personal assessments, and one-on-one coaching, participants will learn the essential skills, capabilities and behaviours required to be a commercially confident partner in the digital age. The programme structure allows participants the time and space to focus, reflect, and practise while they perform their daily duties.

DLiPTM gives delegates the unique opportunity to be coached by an experienced practice leader. Our coaches have been selected for their extensive experience, leadership capability and commitment to people development.

  • 180-day plan

    The 180-day plan aims to identify specific activities, behaviours and priorities participants want to address during the programme.

    Participants form their 180-day plan before the programme starts, and continuously add new elements during the programme. After the programme is complete participants will then present their 180-day plan to their sponsors. 

  • Learning from peers
    Throughout the programme, participants will share their challenges with their peers in a confidential, supportive environment. Peers provide participants with insightful, objective viewpoints that will allow them to tackle the problem from a different perspective.
  • Personal one to one guidance from a professional coach

    Throughout the programme participants will have four 90-minute sessions, booked around their schedule with an experienced coach. 

    Coaches are there to impart their invaluable wisdom and help participants navigate current and future work challenges. 

  • Practical simulation workshops

    DLiP™  workshops simulate the core challenges Partner’s face – enabling participants to prepare and practise in a consequence free environment.

An ICAEW Chartered Accountant with extensive experience gained across accountancy firms of all sizes from the Big Four to three-to-four partner firms. Anna has also spent time in industry and with academic institutions. Anna now specialises in leadership development and coaching for high achieving professionals.

Sue Mitchell, DLiP coach

Sue Mitchell ACA

With over 10 years’ experience as an in-house executive coach within KPMG, Sue has coached extensively on a wide range of areas including the development of the talent population, leadership skills, and transition into senior roles. She is an experienced facilitator, having developed and run a wide range of skill-based workshops.

  • Typically, do participants fund themselves or do their employers sponsor them to complete DLiP™?

    Occasionally, participants fund themselves, but it is more common for employers to sponsor participants. 

    This is because DLiP™ will have a far bigger impact on the business than the initial investment.

  • How long is DLiP™?
    DLiP™ is a four month programme. The 2021 programme starts on 2 September and ends on 16 December. 

  • How many participants are in a DLiP™ cohort?

    We accept a maximum of 14 participants onto one cohort to allow for effective networking and engagement in workshops.

    For our autumn 2021 programme we aim to run two cohorts. One cohort will be for participants who would prefer to complete the programme online. The second cohort will be for participants who want to complete the programme face to face in Chartered Accountants’ Hall, London.

    Extra cohorts may be added depending on demand. 

  • Is DLiP™ entirely online?
    Participants will have the choice to complete the programme either online (live) or in person at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, London. 
  • Who is DLiP™ for?
    Participants are typically less than 18 months into their first partner role or are one or two career stages away.
