John is the Chairman of Bloomsbury Publishing and Chairman of Primark’s Strategic Advisory Board. He also holds several roles at SSE, including Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
He is also Chairman of the UK Deposit Return Scheme, which is due to go live in October 2027.
John also chairs multiple charities, including The Egmont Trust, which supports community groups across Sub-Saharan Africa with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS, and Hounslow Pride of Place, creating initiatives to deliver positive social impact.
